Everyday Cleaning:
Regular light maintenance prevents buildup and keeps the leather looking its best.
- Wipe down the exterior with a soft, dry cloth after each use to remove dust and light surface dirt.
- For light soil, use a cloth barely dampened with distilled water — wipe gently in circular motions, then buff dry immediately.
- Always test any product on a small hidden area first before applying to the full bag.
Conditioning:
Leather needs moisture to stay supple and resist cracking.
- Apply a quality leather conditioner every 3–6 months, or whenever the leather feels dry or stiff.
- Use a soft cloth to work the conditioner in with gentle, circular motions, covering the entire surface evenly.
- Allow to absorb for at least 30 minutes, then buff off any excess with a clean, dry cloth.
- Conditioning also helps restore color and deepens the natural richness of the leather over time.
Spot Treating Stains:
Act quickly — the sooner you treat a stain, the better the result.
- For oil or grease stains, blot immediately with a dry cloth — do not rub. Dust lightly with cornstarch or talcum powder, leave overnight, then brush away gently.
- For ink marks, apply a tiny amount of rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab and dab carefully at the mark only.
- For water spots, dampen the entire panel evenly with distilled water so it dries uniformly without a ring mark.
- Always blot, never rub — rubbing spreads stains and can abrade the leather surface.
Water & Weather:
Leather and prolonged moisture do not mix well.
- If caught in rain, blot dry immediately with a soft cloth — never use a hair dryer or place near a heat source to speed drying.
- Allow the bag to dry naturally at room temperature, stuffed with white tissue paper to hold its shape.
- Apply a water-repellent leather protector spray every few months as a preventative measure, especially before winter or wet seasons.
What to Avoid:
These will cause irreversible damage to the leather.
- No direct sunlight or prolonged heat — both fade color and dry out the leather.
- No household cleaners, baby wipes, or hand sanitiser — these strip the natural oils and can discolor the surface.
- No machine washing or soaking in water under any circumstances.
- No harsh scrubbing — always use soft cloths or brushes with fine, natural bristles only.
